Aermacchi “pilots” its information technology with ORSYP

The job scheduling solution from Dollar Universe guides the IT operations of Italy’s leading aeronautics firm

Milan , April 19 2006 – Aermacchi, a leading company in the design and production of trainers for military pilots and structural parts for the world’s biggest aircraft manufacturers, has chosen ORSYP’s Dollar Universe job scheduler to automate all its business processes in place of the product the company previously used on a host platform.

With more than half a century of experience, Aermacchi produces advanced military training aircraft and aeronautics components, supplies aircraft maintenance and ground support services and collaborates with the world’s leading military programs. The company employs a staff of about 1800 people, with important research facilities and an advanced flight testing facility.

Aermacchi used Dollar Universe throughout the process of migration from the OS/390 host to the open world of Unix/Windows and SAP. At present, the processes automated by Dollar Universe cover all aspects of the business managed by SAP (R/3, HR, BW, CO, FI and MM, including a vertical Aerospace & Defense unit) and applications developed by Aermacchi technicians such as management of work orders in Windows.

Aermacchi chose Dollar Universe for its ‘Automation Power Grid’ architecture, optimized for open environments, and for the quality of its integration with SAP, certified ‘Powered by SAP Netweaver’ to permit complete control of all types of SAP jobs.
