Ricard chooses ORSYP to automate

As part of the process of implementation a PeopleSoft Enterprise One ERP, Dollar Universe, the IT production scheduler from ORSYP automates all of Ricard's

Paris , France , May 10, 2006 – ORSYP, the market leader in IT production systems has been chosen by Ricard to automate all of their IT processing needs.

The world's fourth spirits brand, Ricard is a major player in the drinks sector employing 1,220 people in mainland France and operating a number of production facilities both inside and outside of France. The company generated sales of 400 million Euros in 2003.

Change management as part of the implementation of a PeopleSoft One ERP

To homogenize its IT system, Ricard has chosen to implement a PeopleSoft Enterprise One ERP, migrating from a Mainframe environment to a Unix and Windows environment, one that its in-house teams have less experience of. In addition, the company needs to retrieve all of the existing databases and applications and ensure that they can quickly communicate with the new ERP. To successfully complete this assignment, Ricard used the Genio ETL so that they could interface People Soft Enterprise One with all of the applications but they were lacking a production scheduler so that they could guarantee proper processing synchronization and linking.

The proprietary scheduler developed in-house by Ricard's IT teams, although highly effective, turned out to be limited by its centralized architecture - one that could not guarantee processing continuity in the event of a failure - and by its in-house operation which required retaining dedicated resources in order ensure its future evolution.

Faced with these difficulties and aware of the importance of IT production in increasing productivity and improving the quality of service provided to its customers, Ricard took the decision to quickly purchase an IT scheduler able to support distributed automation of all processing and thereby optimize their execution.

Dollar Universe from ORSYP, the benchmark scheduler for automating all of People Soft Enterprise One's operations in a heterogeneous environment

In addition, thanks to its XML agent, Dollar Universe has made it possible to use dynamic functions provided by the PeopleSoft Enterprise One ERP for greater processing flexibility.

Execution times cut by 30%

A true event-driven scheduler, Dollar Universe has made substantial time savings possible by eliminating delay times. Prior to its integration, Ricard would loose two to three minutes of processing time between each process. Now, with the ORSYP scheduler, processes are started automatically as soon as the triggering events are completed.

"Now, thanks to Dollar Universe, processing sequences that lasted 30 to 45 minutes are completed in 15 minutes. This means we can commit to delivering the data required by the operational entities, every day, as of 5 am" confirms Laurent Campion, Dollar Universe Administrator for Ricard.
