ORSYP Sets New Environmentally Friendly Standards of Operations; Achieves Worldwide ISO14001:2004 Certification
Focus on Reducing Environmental Impact Returning Immediate Results for Company
ORSYP, Paris – April 6, 2010
News Facts:
- ORSYP, a leading provider of enterprise level IT operations management software and services, today announced it has achieved ISO14001:2004 certification, demonstrating an improved commitment to the company’s environmental policies.
- To become ISO 14001:2004 certified, organizations must set up an efficient Environmental Management System that enables them to comply with applicable environmental regulations and reduce their impact on the environment on a continual basis. ORSYP has spent the past 12 months implementing processes to achieve this certification and has seen significant results. The company has reduced electricity consumption by 12 percent and has lowered its carbon dioxide emissions by 37 percent. Also, all employees at ORSYP have adopted more environmentally-conscious behaviors and have demonstrated a commitment to continued improvement.
- ISO 14001:2004 does not specify levels of environmental performance, as they would require a specific standard for each business. Rather, it provides a framework for improved standards related to the organization's environmental policies and actions.
- ORSYP’s certification was measured on the efficiency of its system to manage its impact on the environment, with regard to carbon dioxide emissions, energy and paper consumption and hazardous waste management in connection with environmental regulations.
- Additionally, ORSYP has dedicated the time to training employees on its new processes to ensure that this eco-friendly mentality exists throughout the company.
