ORSYP Think Tank

The ORSYP Think Tank is a community of IT decision-makers determined to develop a common vision for IT Operations Performance.

The ORSYP Think Tank members share the common belief that Performance has become a major issue in IT Operations Management. Each industry sector is represented within the group: Administration and Public Service, Banking and Insurance, Distribution, Transport and Telecom.

The ORSYP Think Tank aims to develop ideas that will be tomorrow's reality in Performance Management. The results from the Think Tank work sessions are to be challenged, modified and adopted by as many IT Operations managers as possible.

In 2010, the group's objective was to assess the current Performance Management models, to identify their limits and to come up with another measurement for Performance that is more in line with the current challenges of IT Operations Management. Taking inspiration from the manufacturing industry, the Think Tank members have assessed the relevance and the applicability of an industrial Key Performance Indicator (KPI), the Overall Equipment Effectiveness (OEE), to IT Operations Management.

In 2011, The Think Tank members have started to experiment with this new KPI in their operational environment in order to evaluate its feasibility and its opportunity in terms of performance management in IT Operations
